The Pastor
Referral Network
is a referral service for
congregations in the United Church of Christ and others of Reformed,
Evangelical, Congregational, Christian heritages – helping to
connect pastors and churches of like mind and spirit. It is
expected that clergy and congregational search committees will
communicate directly with each other.
The UCC in
particular is experiencing a severe clergy shortage and growing
numbers of these churches are calling us for assistance is finding
evangelical, Biblical, Godly leadership.

How the Network
Works:

Inquiring
churches receive a packet of search aids to help them in the
process. This includes a Bible study on the Timothy I and II
passages about the characteristics of a Godly pastor, an outline of
the search process, and suggestions on where to look. If you
choose to register with the Pastor Referral Network, a description
of your church and your need is circulated among clergy registered
with the Network on a “Churches Seeking Pastors” listing sent out

Inquiring Clergy receive the flyer “Seeking God’s Call as
Pastor” and a Clergy Registration Form. Registered pastors are sent
a “Churches Seeking Pastors” listing of church openings that is
compiled each month. The descriptions note a contact person to whom
interested clergy can send their information.

How to register:
|

Fill out the
CHURCH Registration Form
and the spiritual
self-assessment form and return them to the Pastor Referral
Network with a copy of whatever you are using to describe yourself
to candidates. We keep your information on file and do not send
copies to churches. The registration form allows you to specify
your contact person. This could be someone on the search committee
or your denominational office staff person. We recommend searching
within your denominational placement system as well as utilizing
outside sources such as our Network. |
